8th Tonbridge Brownies at Blackland Farm

For the second week of the Easter Holidays, 15 Brownies, 3 Leaders and 3 Young Leaders from 8th Tonbridge Brownies headed off to spend the week at Blackland Farm.

The weather was fantastic and everyone had a great time.  Our theme for the week was Monsters Inc.

During our time away we took part in bungee trampolining, tackled the climbing wall and learnt how to play aeroball.  Crafts included holiday photo frames, sewing monsters, camp pillow cases, monster plates and monster bags.  Other activities included midnight walks, a scavenger hunt, outdoor cooking, camp fire with smores and songs, monster wide game and the much requested evening of bingo.

The Brownies all enjoyed taking turns and helping with the chores and got very excited if they thought Brown Owl was going to do an inspection of their dorms.

For some of our Brownies this was their first time away from home but they all loved this adventure and are now looking forward to their next one.

Comments received from our Brownies included:-

“My favourite activity was everything – it was fun, amazing and funny.”

“Brown Owl makes us feel much more confident and teaches us independence.”

“There is so much to do on Brownie Holiday.”

And from our parents:

“I have heard all about the holiday and really enjoyed looking at the pictures. It is clear that a lot of hard work went into organising these few days. Our daughter had an amazing time and loved getting to know the girls more who she said were all lovely and she hopes they will become good friends. Thank you so much for making this so special and giving her memories which will stay with her forever.”

“I would like to say you must have spent days or rather weeks organising all the activity booklets place mats decorations etc etc and your dedication as leaders is recognised so a big big thank from Me.”
